Some heroes are only six years old. ❤️
When young Bridger Walker saw a dog attacking his little sister in July 2020, he didn’t run away. Instead, he put himself directly between her and the animal, determined to protect her from harm.
The little boy from Wyoming was bitten repeatedly on his face and head during the terrifying attack. But even after being injured, he grabbed his sister’s hand and led her to safety.
When his family asked why he had put himself in danger, Bridger’s answer was heartbreaking.
“If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.”
Bridger needed more than 90 stitches to treat his injuries, but his incredible courage quickly captured hearts around the world. His story even reached Hollywood, with actor Chris Evans sending him a personal message as Captain America to tell him he was a hero.
At just six years old, Bridger showed a kind of selflessness that many people spend a lifetime trying to live up to. He didn’t think about being brave or becoming famous. He just wanted his little sister to be safe.
That is the kind of love that stays with you. A little boy, a split-second decision, and a big brother who put his sister first. ❤️
