The most surprising response for Emily was from one commenter who guessed she was 58 years old.
“Do I truly look like I’m almost 60? Like I’m approaching retirement age? Do I really appear that old?” she questioned in a follow-up video.
Many people, of course, thought she looked to be in her thirties, and a few even thought she still appeared to be in her twenties. The guesses varied widely.

Emily, however, was astonished by those who guessed she was so much older and ultimately revealed her actual age.
“I turned 36 last week, so just 36,” she shared.
She understands why people perceive her as older; it’s because she has stopped dying her naturally grey hair.
“I’ve had grey hair for quite some time now, and it’s a natural grey. I started going grey around 19, and people assume that because I have grey hair, I’m over 50,” she explained in her video.
She expressed her disbelief that even with her grey hair, people were estimating her age as older.
In her original video, she mentioned that the bags under her eyes were due to sleepless nights with a newborn baby. She also noted that she wore no makeup or filters, which might have caused people to hesitate, but in her view, she looked entirely normal.
“I’ve never had any cosmetic procedures. This is my face, and this is what I look like, and I believe this represents what most people my age would look like without a filter,” she remarked.
She speculated in her video that the guesses regarding her age were less about her and more about how social media has shaped perceptions of women.
She pointed out that nowadays, many people are unfamiliar with what a woman looks like naturally since social media promotes cosmetic enhancements and the use of filters to change appearances.
“I think it’s crucial to remember that what you see on social media, on television, or in magazines — as people have said for years — it’s not real. What do you think?” she asked.
“Do you believe we have a distorted perception of age based on what we’ve encountered on social media?” she queried her viewers.
Some individuals, however, disagreed with her, stating it was merely her grey hair that made her appear older.
“36 going on 60. It’s probably the hair that ages you, but you are still very beautiful,” one person commented.
“I think you look your age. I believe it’s people’s perception that we only get white hair as we age. They can’t move past it,” another added in response.
“It’s just the hair that makes you look older. Your skin looks fantastic,” someone remarked, while another person contributed, “I believe people get confused by a younger individual feeling comfortable letting their grey hair grow out.”
